The unofficial x64 patch for Civ 2 - fixes problems such as the game crashing whenever a text prompt comes up. To play the videos the Indeo codec set is required - The download here worked for me. This all assumes that you can get the game running on x64 systems to begin with - currently that's hard to do since the installer for "regular" Civilization 2 is a bit program, which x64 systems just laugh at.

I followed the instructions and it still says 'worms world party' has stopped working' First i reinstalled the game completely then i copied the CD contents to the game's directory copy and replaced the several items next i installed the fix v1. Install WA. With its latest official update, it works with all Windows versions and has all the features WWP has and more, plus a far more active community.
Please make a clean installation of Worms World Party, or remove any other fixes you may have previously installed, otherwise it may not work. It is unofficial, but is working fine. It comes with no warranty. Installing SP1 is recommended.
You may have to run it with Administartor Rights. It is recommended to update to this version 1. The game cannot run on laptops that have an Intel Integrated Graphics Accelerator.

I have the same problem as a lot of people a while back in the thread. When Levo posted that link about your operating system, is it just me, or did that link back to the post that it was in? Cause it's not working, and I really, really, really, really want to play WWP, but I'm getting pretty jack of this Worms was one of my favourite games, now I can't play at all. Windows 7, 64x, just like everyone else. Damn well fix it already! We all want it! Yep, totally the same here, have to boot xp with that mode or to use the VMware, but it's painful to rope.

I tried running the game with both of them, and your fix works for me, but only partially. It fixes the colors in game menus, but when I start a mission, I see a black background and some terrain objects, with messed up colors.
Any way to fix this? Tried setting and unsetting compatibility mode and color mode, it didn't affect anything. BTW, sorry for bad English if any.

OK, I was able to resolve the issue mentioned in my previous post by closing all the other programs and restarting the fix. It worked method 1. But now another problem appeared: each time I start the fix, it says "Unknown OS. The game may not work properly". How can I remove this message? I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and ye as mentioned above all the tests the fix were making did not work so is there a catch somewhere that i missed?

Thanks for your help! I'm getting a new computer with Windows 7, thank goodness for this. Now I can still play one of my all time favourite PC games! Now to see if Grim Fandango will work I would suggest you buy a CD. You may want to consider buying Armageddon instead, though. Either way, basically what you're doing here is stealing someone's radio then phoning them up to ask how to change the presets. I hate it so much, if nothing works fine for me!!
I Will Try! I can't seem to get worms world party to start after installing sp1 because it tells me to insert the right disc and I do have the right disc inserted. I wasn't able to get worms world party to work before the sp1 so i'm just trying to get it to work in win7 64 bit but I know it is a long shot. So I started with different virtual machines.
I started with VMware Workstation v7. Finally - the solution in my case: VirtualBox One minor problem is you have to switch on and off mouse pointer integration when you are switching between the game and the menu in my case , but this is piece of cake IMHO. What is more WA also run very nice on VirtualBox, but without newest patch.

I'd just like to pop in and add that I also cannot get WWP to work. I've tried everything from compatibility modes to killing explorer. I've done everything I can think of, but the game simply will not work.
I always receive a "Worms World Party has stopped working" message before the game even starts. It would be so great if this game got the same treatment as Worms Armageddon, but that's just wishful thinking, I guess. That's exactly the same problem I have. Black screen and error box "stopped working" on top of it. But at least a startup fix to get it to work again would be nice. Speaking of which, noone reverse engineered this problem till yet?
