Hi, To be honest, I do not know. Below are the steps which lead me to that 'synchronizing' thing. Enable 'Undo' disk option 2. Thats all.
Please keep reading below to learn the detailed steps. Create a shared folder to save all the network files and folders you want to sync. Remember the path of it. Usually, it consists of two backslashes and the IP address or hostname, followed by the shared folder.
Map the network drive to local computer. Thus, you can use it as a local drive just the other drive eg: C: currently on the your computer. In the pop-up window, type the path of your shared folder and click Finish to complete this process. Then, go to the mapped network drive, also called offline files folder or its subfolder, right-click the files or folder you want to access at local computer and select Always available offline option from the context menu.
Now, you canturn on or off offline files in Windows 10, there are 3 common used ways, you can try one of them in the following. Of course, these methods are still applied in Window 7 and Windows 8. Step 1. Step 2. Click Manage offline files, then you will access the Offline Files window, it allows you to enable or disable offline files. Step 3. To enable offline files, click Enable offline files under the General tab.
Please remember to restart your computer to activate Offline Files folder. If not, you will not offline files folder on the mapped network drive. Step 4. To disable offline files, click Disable offline files in the Offline Files window.
By default, after you enable offline files in the Offline Files window, this option will change to Disable offline files. Type group policy in the search box and then select group policy editor from the start menu list. Then you can enable or disable offline files per your needs. Open registry editor by typing registry in the search box and selecting it. Step 5. To disable offline files, set the start value of CSC and CscService to 4 and restart your computer to save changes.
About offline files sync in Windows 10, you have two options, including syncing offline files manually and automatically.
Detailed steps are below. Click Offline Files folder, then you will see all the shared folders for offline files sync. Click Sync to sync network file to local computer immediately. Note: If you want to view your files, just double-click the shared folder you see for example, Documents under the Offline File folder. Obvious if you think about it, but extremely confusing at first. Never mind, explaining things like this is what PCstats. Note that the procedures we will be outlining below assume that all computers you will use are correctly set up in a single network, and can communicate with each other.
If you need help setting up a network, see PCstats' Guide to Networking first. We cover synchronizing files over the Internet with a remote network later in this article.
Using the Windows Briefcase. We will start with XP's 'briefcase' app, as it is a simplified version of the file synchronizing method which is extremely easy to use. The concept of this application is a digital briefcase which can be moved from computer to computer via floppy or USB memory key or on a laptop.
It holds copies of all the user's current documents, and allows you to work on these files away from the computer on which they are based. Upon returning the briefcase to the original computer, you can update any files which have been changed. Basically, the briefcase creates offline copies of all of your files which can then be moved to any other system and worked on. Returning the briefcase to your original system allows you to update your files with any changes you made while away.
A good example of where the briefcase app would be useful: You work in an office on a desktop PC.
